Nurettin Sözen, Chairman of Bernardo, was born in Istanbul on 14 February 1966. After graduating from Robert College in Istanbul, he joined Boğaziçi University where he graduated with a degree from the Mechanical Engineering department. This was followed by completing an MBA at the same university and embarking on his Professional career starting with a national bank, a sector he continued to work in including time spent in New York. After returning to Turkey in 1995, rather than continue working in banking sector, he chose to continue in the family business. With his brother Ömer Sözen, they turned one store in Bağdat Street into a brand which now boasts 115 stores. Nurettin Sözen is married and with 2 children and is a very good example of successfully balancing business and private life and continues to expand the Bernardo brand.
Stuart has over 25 years’ experience helping clients build strong, distinctive brands around the world – notably in retail, FMCG, sports, leisure and telcoms. In 2013, after 12 years with global design agency Fitch rising to Executive Creative Director, Stuart founded Missouri Creative – a new retail and brand design agency for a new era of retail. They work with retail brands and brands in retail, helping them with everything from brand creation to visual identity, environments and communication. Current and recent clients include Jameson Irish Whiskey, Foot Locker, Vodafone, Jaguar, Estée Lauder, Chivas, Waitrose and Paddy Power.
Bertrando Di Renzo
Italian Designer Bertrando Di Renzo started his career in Milan which was then followed by Barcelona. Driven by his passion and love for Istanbul, his collections are a reflection of many years of travel and discovery in this historic country. With the name ‘Les Ottomans’ reflecting inspiration from the Ottoman Empire, he is promoting his products under the label ‘Made in Turkey’. Bertrando specialises in marketing strategies, branding and business development, strategic communication, international relations and is a consultant to several international companies and institutions working on their internationalisation strategy.
Prof. Dr. İbrahim Kırcova
Prof. Dr. İbrahim Kırcova graduated from Kütahya Trade High School in 1980 and completed his Bachelor Degree at Bursa Uludağ University, Department of Business in 1985, where he also became a Research Assistant in same faculty. In 1992 he completed his Masters and Doctoral Degrees in Uludağ University on the subject of ‘Assets Marketing’. In 1996 he was awarded Assistant Professor by Yıldız Technical University Institute of Social Sciences followed by Associate Professor in 2000 and Professor in 2006.
Currently he is lecturing at Yıldız Technical University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences where he is also Head of the Department of Production Management and Marketing. With his book ‘Marketing Online’ he established one of the first academic studies in this field. Professor Dr. Kırcova has published eight books on B2B in the Digital Marketing Field, Electronic Market Places, Export Online, Mobile Marketing, Legal Issues Online and Social Media Marketing, as well as many articles and conference proceedings on different subjects related to the science of marketing.
He is currently working on search conferences, moderating decision conferences, problem solving and decision making techniques, moderating on design focused thinking.

After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree from Bilkent University in Ankara, Fatih Karaca completed his MBA in Barcelona and started working in the family business, Karaca Company, in 2006. As a board member and third generation family manager, Fatih has played an important role in making Karaca the international brand it is today. At the Zuchex 2017 Seminar, he will be speaking about Karaca’s success story from past to present and the future of housewares in a rapidly changing World in his presentation titled “How to remove a Bull from the China Shop?”
